Simulation has been one of my passions for many years and I have been slowly
buying pieces here and there to build my own simulator. I have now brought
this passion to the Lab with the motion platform sitting in the back of the
front conference area. Any one who has rode this think can tell you its
hella fun.
So now the bigger idea for this system it to build it into mech warrior type
system with motion and full submersion. Design talks have been happening for
well over a year with game designers and artists about how this would all
work, but to be honest until the hardware is near complete getting them
engaged into the game programing is going to be next to imposable. So I have
started brainstorming and working out the kinks in my head.
Its time for the this to come to fruition. The basic concept is a cockpit
like design simmular to an F18 with LCD panels as the glass in the canopy.
everything custom build and made to look like you are inside a pod that is
part of a mech. The whole system setup with motion actuators for movement,
surround sound, touch panels, buttons, lights, AC, ect. to give the rider a
real feeling of being inside a real 50 ton mech.. Most of the electronics
and mechanics have already been worked out in my head and now come the build
out of the cockpit it self.
Once we have one of these up and running, we may be able to get some VC or
self fund it so we can build 7 more. Once we have a few built we can rent a
spot at the VB ocean front and really start playing games for a living.
anyone interested? I am thinking of having a simulation night at the lab.
This is a big project with hardware, software, wood, plastics, metal,
fiberglass, ect..being involved. This is going to be alot of fun.
interested? respond to this post
