The APC 2u 1500va one uses 4 batteries at a cost of around $22 each from
the local dealer on Campostella. The thing is, there is some trick with
these high frequency oscillation devices that can supposedley undo the
damage.

Two other donor units given to the lab had some batteries failed and some
that were good. They seem to fail in order, so I'm thinking on the one
upstairs trying to rejuvinate the battery closest to the + side of the
DC connection might fix it up.

In the future when I either switch jobs and get a real paycheck or get a
paycheck from the current job I plan to pick up a desulphator device. I'd
prefer something I can run for a day on a battery. Many of them are ment
to be left hooked up all the time, which is meh.

Lots of batteries to desulphate. If it works, it could bring a 2nd life to
many UPSes.
