     I'm no expert, but I read other people say that you should buy 
the balloons direct from manufacturer.  The rubber used is 
deliberately made biodegradable so the shards don't litter the 
landscape.  You should use the balloons with-in one year of 
manufacture, most cut-rate balloons are old and won't achieve 
advertised altitude.
