Quick update for the 3d printer enthusiasts on the list, Makerbot
Industries gave a price break just before Christmas for the latest greatest
Thing-O-Matic and FAB.com just offered another $100 off

Fab.com current pricing:
$999 for the kit you build yourself
$2,000 for the assembled kit (sent to you already made)
