When the lab gets the robot, once the drivers are solved we will need a 
solution for robot motion control. My idea is to find a commercial, used, 
cheap, 6 axis robot control solution, that way we can skip worrying about 
that and move to making apps that do things with the robot versus just 
getting it to move.

As I remember the input to the thing was really no different than a CNC 
setup, where pulses drive the motors. I think it took about 20,000 pulses 
to move the thing a small amount. Highly accurate. There is opto feedback 
coming from every movement of the thing as well.

Quick ebay and google shows lots of random boxes, like the GALIL DMC-2160.
