Im thinking about something like this but done in a 3D carved kind of way
instead of paper.
We design and produce framed, acrylic protected nautical charts for
decorative purposes. The unique feature of each chart is that the lighted
navigational aids (buoys and lighthouses) are represented by LEDs (light
emitting diodes) that flash "on" and "off " in the correct color and time
period.

I could use a very basic course cause I have a project that I need to make
lights blink. A lot of lights at different intervals and for different
lenghts of time and some in conjunction with each other.
To clarify: we're not talking 1280 * 1024 lights... Just a couple. :)
