Feel free to use the IRC server. As far as old laptops, there are some 
really underpowered older things (think Pentium 1, MS-DOS) and a G4 
powerbook with a iffy display (it comes and goes with the display angle, 
probably the ribbon cable.)

There is one or two newer laptops but they are pretty failed and really 
just for parts.

I think I have an old Mac Powerbook? It's pretty bulky?
