[757labs] Recording Presentations

I really want to have computer video captured as well as a presentor shot.
With the ultimate plan being to make something like ConFreaks. Showing
slides side-by-side with presentor eliminates the need to editing mostly.
Being able to record computer output on mac/Linux/win would be easier with a
hardware solution instead of software IMO.

Here is the output of our last meetup using ScreenFlow to record the Skype
presentation.

<http://vimeo.com/10980145>I really like how ScreenFlow captures the
computer audio and the external microphone on 2 tracks. Again, if there is
anything I can contribute to the hardware, costs of the labs setup. Please
let me know!

I was thinking of pushing live video to justin.tv, as ustream only supports
their own flash based encoder. There shouldn't be an issue writing the file
to disk as well.
Also, justin.tv is easier to script.

Do places like Vimeo/Youtube take FLV files? Can we use that somewhere that
isn't upstream bandwidth limited, like the lab is (and is free? :)

If it helps...
I do video streams of our monthly staff meetings and use on2 Flix and a
firewire capable video camera

There is really nothing to do. It handles the capture and encoding on the
fly and dumps it into a streamable flv. It has a 30 day demo you can just
keep downloading.

So when @757rb settles back into it's 2nd Wednesday at the labs, it would be
cool if there was a canned way to record our sessions. I'm curious, do ya'll
have this in place already? Is there anything I can do to help, equipment
etc?
Ethan is working on this. He's got a camera and ON AIR sign mounted on
the raceway already. Looks pretty awesome.
He'll have more details on where this stands i'm sure.
I'm punting on the 757 Studio video... since i suck at that stuff.
Going to compress it some and pass it off to John M at this week's
meetup. Better incredibly late than never? I got a new mic for the
camera too so i may bring it to this 757.rb meetup as well just
because.
